UPDATED Band statement: Norman Watt-Roy
“Norman felt unwell last night at our Hampton Pools gig and suffered a minor heart attack – has was taken to hospital late last night. He is recovering well and will be kept in for a day or so – we’ll keep you updated as we know more. Thank you for your messages of concern and support.”
UPDATE 19 July: We are happy to say that Norman is leaving hospital today to recover at home. Thanks again for all of your kind messages of support and thanks to the NHS for being so incredible.

so relieved to hear that. We were really worried when we saw him being taken from the stage. Please pass on our best and let’s hope he’ll be back in the saddle soon.

I did think he looked suddenly very anxious to get off – guessed illness – I am very glad he decided to leave and not hang on, very best wishes to him.

I was there too and very sorry to see Norman in trouble. I hope he recovers soon and the band get back to the great form they were producing last night.

My first time seeing WJB … utterly BRILLIANT. Very concerned to see/read Norman unwell but encouraged to hear he is recovering well. I went thru’ same OCT last year. Heartfelt wishes to you Norman. Look forward to seeing you back on stage v.soon, doing what you do best

Was at the gig in Norwich on Saturday night. Norman was taken ill before the last couple of songs. I was hoping to God he was ok?? Rest up for a bit!! Even Blockheads need a rest from time to time!! Glad to hear that you are doing good!! Best Bass player ever in my book!! Xxxx
